HYROX Gyms in Tokyo You Can Actually Drop Into

Finding a Tokyo gym with HYROX equipment is the easy part — the official HYROX gym finder and the Japan training club directory list affiliated facilities, and other guides compare station coverage. The hard part, and the part nobody writes about in English, is whether you can walk in and train on a Tuesday while you are here for nine days.

What actually stops visitors getting in

Indoor shoes. Many Japanese gyms require shoes that have never been worn outdoors, and enforce it. This surprises almost every visiting athlete, because it is close to unheard of elsewhere. Pack a second pair.

Membership versus visitor use. The requirements people warn about — a Japanese address, a domestic phone number, a local bank account for direct debit — attach to joining. Visitor use usually sidesteps all of it. If a gym's English page only describes membership, that does not mean drop-in is unavailable; it often means nobody translated that part.

Booking systems. Class booking apps often reject international phone numbers. Email, or turning up, tends to work where the app does not.

Tattoos. Less restrictive at gyms than at baths and pools, but not universally relaxed. Worth asking ahead if you are planning around one specific facility.

The gyms

Each entry says how far it has been checked. Nothing here is dressed up as more certain than it is.

Club 360

From public listings only

Minato · Azabu-juban Station · Drop-in advertised

HYROX provision
Runs a dedicated HYROX course. Sold as its own package rather than through the standard class passes.
English
Fully English-speaking. Built around the international community in Minato.
Price
Not published for the HYROX course — ask when booking.
What you need on the day
Advertises drop-in visits without a membership sign-up. HYROX sessions specifically require a HYROX package, so the general drop-in rate may not apply.

The clearest English-first option found so far, which also makes it the most likely to be busy with the same audience.

CrossFit Roppongi

From public listings only

Minato · Roppongi Station · Drop-in advertised

HYROX provision
Runs HYROX Performance and Strength classes as an affiliated training club, on a published schedule.
English
Not stated. The site is in Japanese; a CrossFit affiliate in Roppongi is likely to manage in English, but that is an assumption.
Price
¥4,950 tax included per HYROX class, as published on their own site.
What you need on the day
Advertised as open to non-members with no CrossFit experience required. There is a dedicated drop-in page rather than a membership-only funnel.

The only gym found so far that rents shoes — ¥400, alongside towels and activewear. That matters more than it sounds: indoor-shoe rules are what turn visiting athletes away, and this removes the problem for someone arriving straight from sightseeing. Price and rental should be confirmed by phone before anyone plans around them.

This list is short because it only contains gyms with something checkable behind them. It grows as each one is called or visited, rather than by adding names from a directory. Know one that belongs here? runeatjapan@gmail.com.

How these entries are checked

Visited in person
Someone from RunEat Japan has trained here and checked this themselves.
Confirmed by phone
We called and asked. Policies change, so check again close to your trip.
From public listings only
Taken from the gym's own site or a third-party listing and not independently checked. Treat it as a starting point, not a promise.

The running half of your training week

HYROX is half running, and Tokyo is unusually good at that part — flat, safe at any hour, and free. The Imperial Palace loop is a measured 5 km circuit with no traffic lights, and running stations near it rent lockers and showers by the session, which solves the same problem as gym drop-in from the other direction.
