About This Course
Komazawa Olympic Park was constructed for the 1964 Tokyo Summer Olympics as the site of cycling and wrestling events. Today the 41-hectare park is one of the most popular running destinations in southwest Tokyo, anchored by a clearly marked 2.1 km outer loop circuit. The course is entirely flat and asphalt-paved, encircling the park's central sports facilities — a perfect venue for interval training, tempo runs, or relaxed multiple laps. The original 1964 Olympic structures, including the distinctive Gymnasium and the Olympic Torch Tower, add historical character. Running clubs gather here in the early mornings and weekday evenings. The park is open at all times with no entry fee, and toilet facilities and water fountains are distributed around the circuit. Multiple laps are the norm — four laps completes a little over 8 km. From Komazawa-daigaku Station on the Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line, the park entrance is a straightforward 10-minute walk southeast.
